Recruiting Report: Tyrece Radford (2018)
With two Division I offers in tow, and still a big summer ahead, Tyrece Radford could have plenty more recruitment news to share before his senior season begins.
The 6-foot-2 point guard — Louisiana’s 5th-ranked 2018 — mentioned his two offers are from Louisiana-Lafayette and UAB, and says visits are “getting put together.”
He listed Central Florida, South Florida, Nebraska, Indiana and Florida Gulf Coast as programs that are interested in him.
Radford defined his playing style in a recent phone interview.
“As a point guard my strengths are going to the goal, and what I need to work on is my jump-shot,” said Radford, who recently wrapped up his junior season at McKinley.
“My role was to try and get us a far as we could in the playoffs. And my team was 100 percent behind me, and I did my best to do my part and make them proud.”
He added: “I feel like I did a good job leading the team, and next season I want to have a better footwork and be a better jump-shooter.”
This summer, the Division I prospect is again playing with Louisiana Elite.
“My role is the same as school; just be a better point guard and help get us the win,” said Radford.
“I’ve been doing alright, but I know I could do better. I’m just trying to get used to the new players.”
Though gaining some additional offers this summer is a goal, Radford had next winter on his mind when mentioning his goals.
“My goal for my senior year is to get a ring,” he said. “So I can leave McKinley on a good note.”
