Recruiting Report: Musa Jallow (2018)
A four star recruit has seen his interest pick up in the last year and just received his 11th D1 offer on May 3rd as Thad Matta and Ohio State have extended an offer. Musa Jallow, a rising senior at Bloomington North, has been receiving interest from high majors and has gotten several offers. The 6’5 small forward has taken his game to the next level and has performed well so far this spring running with Team Blaze Select.
This past weekend Jallow and Team Blaze Select played at the Run N’ Slam event in Fort Wayne. Jallow impressed many and was hitting his shot. With the impressive weekend in the books, Jallow reflects on what went right and what he needs to work on.
“I need to work on everything if I want to play at the next level,” Jallow says. “I need to work on passing, work on my shooting still and then work on playing defense.”
Jallow says that many high major teams have came to watch him play this spring such as Indiana, Stanford, and Wisconsin but even though those coaches come to watch him play Jallow says that it doesn’t have much of an impact on him.
“Not really,” he says. “I am just out here trying to have fun.”
Ohio State being his most recent offer sees a lot in Jallow. He visited them his freshman year and Jallow says since then there has always been a good relationship.
“They see the same thing that all the other schools mention,” Jallow says. “They like my versatility and they like that I am a good student in the classroom and a good person overall.”
Over the past two years schools who have seen Jallow play have said that he needs to work on his jumper. Now coming into his senior year Jallow has improved it to a point that he can shoot it at a high clip.
“Colleges have said I need to work on my jump shot so I have been working with coach Cross nonstop every single day and now I have great confidence and I just let it go now,” Jallow said.
Jallow has also been offered by his hometown team, Indiana. When asked if the Indiana offer would be hard to beat, Jallow says, “No not really. I didn’t grow up in the typical Hoosier household. I am looking for the best fit, it doesn’t really matter where it is.”
