Recruiting Report: Lincoln Jorde (2018)
Six-foot-10 center Lincoln Jorde led Sully Buttes High School to a 20-5 record this winter and a spot in the Class B State Tournament. Now he’s playing with the Sanford Pentagon National Team.
“This winter I think that I really grew into a better basketball player but more than that I grew closer to my teammates,” Lincoln told PHD. “I mean, being from a small town my teammates have always been my friends but, this year they became more than that.”
Sully Buttes earned third place in state this winter beating White River and Parker on the biggest stage in South Dakota high school hoops.
“I was most proud of how we competed every opportunity we got,” Jorde explained. “It didn’t matter who we played we just went out and played as hard as we could. Not only competing in games but we worked hard in practice to be the best team we could be.”
The Pentagon National Team is 12-2 after three events and this level of play has been big for Lincoln’s development. He wants to use this experience to push him to an amazing final season.
“The skill and athleticism that we play against is a lot different from high school and I think I’ve become a more well rounded player from it,” Jorde said. “I want to become more confident with the ball in my hands when there are multiple people around me.”
Jorde also has to think about college basketball. Just about every school in the area has called him and/or watched him play several times.
“I’ve talked to most of the schools in the area and plan on visiting most of them.”
