Recruiting Report: Brady Van Holland (2018)
Six-foot-3 Brady Van Holland of Harrisburg is one of the better shooters in the junior class and he’s a strong contributor for both the Tigers and BBA Force.
Harrisburg started winning three of their first thirteen games but went on a late season role that led to a state tournament berth and a double digit win season.
“This year I grew to be a better person,” Brady said. “I went through some struggles during the season but I found some people to talk to and got the confidence that I needed to finish strong.”
This was a special season for the Harrisburg Tigers where the team, school, and community came together.
“I will always remember our honorary team captain Emmett Zorr who is fighting cancer,” Brady said. “He was an inspiration and he helped me and the team push harder when things got tough.”
Van Holland’s production picked up as his junior year moved on and he wants to continue that increase of play through his spring and summer of work.
“I want to work on more scoring moves,” Brady said about his off-season. “I want to be able to go by anyone with any move that I do. I also want to work on my shooting. Just make it consistent and knockdown when I’m open.”
BBA Force is 9-8 on the year and the increase of competition has been great for Brady’s game.
“They have challenged me to play harder and it’s made me work harder to score. I’ve learned it takes a ton of effort just to win some of these games.
“I think I’ve also learned to score the basketball better through these first few events because the level of play is different from the summers before this one.”
That shooting stroke of Brady’s has colleges interested.
“I’ve visited U of Sioux Falls, I will be visiting Dakota State University,” Brady said. “I’m looking at Northern State, DSU, and USF.”
