Prospect Spotlight: Marlon Bradley (2019)
Deltona Trinity Christian had an impressive run to the Class 3A state title game this season. The team lost to Orlando Christian Prep finishing 22-9 overall.
2019 wing Marlon Bradley played a crucial role in the Eagles’ success. He finished second in scoring with 15.6 points per game behind 2017 Louisiana Tech commit Amorie Archibald. Most impressively, Bradley led all Eagles with 10.2 rebounds per game.
The 6’5″, 220-pounder recorded a double double in 19 of 26 games which included a 16 point, 22 rebound performance in a win over Florida A&M. Bradley is looking to take over Archibald’s role and carry on his legacy, he says.
“I think this past season was really a statement that small schools can have loads of talent and also can improve, like us losing last year at regionals to going to states,” Bradley told Prep Hoops Florida. “I learned that fast isn’t always the right answer and I got more looks than last year so I think my shooting improved.”
Bradley says he’s focused on improving every aspect of his game this summer, specifically shooting off the dribble and ball handling. He’s running with Raptors Elite.
He started dribbling a basketball at age 4 and still remembers the local YMCA games and his first AAU game in 7th grade.
Bradley pointed to his motor and ability to move without the ball as his biggest strengths. He’s aiming to better his 3-point shot and his ball handling this season.
With so many good shooters, Bradley only attempted 14 triples as a sophomore but made seven of those. With Archibald going off to college, the chances for Bradley to sink more 3’s is certainly there.
Right now, no offers have come for the rising junior, but Bradley has drawn interest from Stetson.
Long and instinctive, Bradley is going to thrive as the feature piece of Trinity Christian basketball this season. He doubles as an athlete for the football program which will help even more with is athleticism. Bradley is a breakout candidate this fall.
