Prospect Spotlight: Kamdyn Curfman (2019)
Since his 22-point effort to help lift Georgetown Prep over DeMatha in last year’s BSN Summer League Championship, Kamdyn Curfman only continues to work hard and improve. The sharpshooting sophomore has made significant strides in the last twelve months, and has been a standout this spring while playing up with the 17U Fairfax Stars.
“I’m a great shooter that can finish at the basket, mid range, and deep three point range,” Curfman explained. “I have good court vision and a high IQ.”
Georgetown Prep Head Coach Ryan Eskow is confident in his assessment that Curfman was by far the best shooter on his team last season, and one of the best shooters in the entire region. Curfman nailed five triples in that summer league game against DeMatha, and 33 during his sophomore campaign with the Little Hoyas.
Curfman’s role should significantly increase with Prep this season“I’ve improved athletically which has improved all phases of my game making me a well rounded point guard,” Curfman stated. “I need to increase my speed and quickness with ball handling so I can get into the lane and draw defense more easily.”
Curfman is a fantastic leader both on and off the court. He carries a 3.9 GPA, and is constantly communicating with his teammates while on the floor. Multiple division one schools have reportedly expressed interest, but are not permitted to contact Curfman directly at this point. What can a college coach expect from him at the next level?
“A high IQ point guard with deep range, court vision, and leadership qualities necessary for a division 1 program.”
