Prospect Spotlight: Justice Ellison (2020)
One of the most impressive freshman point guards we saw during the high school season was Flint Hill’s Justice Ellison. The talented lead guard is coming off a strong campaign with the Huskies, and is finding success this spring with the 15U DC Blue Devils.
“I get my teammates involved. I play for others. And I score when I need to score,” said Ellison, a native of Ashburn, VA.
The silky smooth lefty is definitely a pass first playmaker, but is very crafty with the ball and is very good at getting into the lane and finishing in crowds. Ellison acknowledges the need to improve his perimeter shooting, and converting at a higher percentage from the foul line as well.
“I attack. I’m real tough on the defensive side, and I play strong all throughout the game,” Ellison stated. “My ability to score the ball at such a small size, and just playing are two things I take pride in.”
Ellison is hungry for improvement. He got all A’s and B’s this year at Flint Hill, and says he really enjoyed Spanish Class because I started off with a B- and turned it into an A. While it’s too early for college coaches to directly contact him, Ellison says he’s looking to play for someone who believes in him for four years. What can he bring to a college program?
‘I can bring energy. Fire. That dog. Someone that can encourage teammates when they’re down.”
