Prospect Spotlight: Hayden Langkabel (2018)
As we have been talking about most of the spring, there are numerous point guard prospects with toughness and scoring ability. At the head of that group, you have Morristown (IN) standout Hayden Langkabel.
Langkabel, a 6’0 point guard, has been one of the bright spots on the AAU circuit in Indiana this spring. He was a guy we tracked this past high school season and for good reason. He’s a great scorer and has all the confidence in the world.
During the high school season for Morristown (IN), Langkabel put up 27 points per game to go along with 6.1 rebound and 3.3 assists. He did it all while shooting 54% from the field. His mid-range jump shot is maybe the best part of his game. He’s creative enough to get into the lane and can get to the rim but the ability to stop on a dime and shoot makes him even more difficult to defend.
If he has an area to sure up a bit it would be his three-point shot. He shot 37% from three with right at 150 attempts this past season. However, that is pretty nitpicky. His game, though, is really well balanced and he’s one of the more stoned-faced players you will find. He doesn’t react on a play whether good or bad. All he does is his job and plays as hard as you can find in this state. With the type of offense he can produce, it isn’t surprising he’s a guy college coaches are lining up to watch.
He’s been playing really well this spring with Indiana Legends 2018. The group once again has some of the more interesting players to watch. In doing so this spring, Langkabel has picked up a couple offers.
Hayden currently holds offers from Saint Francis (IN) and Marian University. He will also be taking a visit this coming month to Indiana Wesleyan. The list of suitors is deep and he will have his choices when it comes down to it.
