Prospect Spotlight: Darius Kyler (2019)
Up in Pensacola, there is a guard about to take on a big place in his offense. His name is Darius Kyler of Escambia.
The 6’1″, 175-pounder played for a Gators group that went 7-16 a season ago in Class 7A-District 1. He said the loss of a good amount of role players hampered the group but helped him take on more leadership.
Kyler is looking to do more of the same as the main guy in Escambia’s offense.
He wants to work on his stamina and shooting off the dribble this summer with the Pensacola Tornados.
Kyler pointed to his ability to play shut down defense and to be aggressive on offense as his biggest strengths.
No offers or interest have come just yet for the rising junior, but with an increased role, the more looks he’ll draw.
Kyler is a smart and eager kid on and off the court. Look for him to have a steady summer for the Tornados and a breakout junior campaign for Escambia.
