Prospect Spotlight: Cameron Savage (2019)
South Lakes point guard Cameron Savage has started every game since his freshman year, and only continues to improve as he builds valuable experience and develops his skill set. The Seahawks have posted a winning record in each of Savage’s first two seasons, and they should continue that trend as he’s been boosting his stock with reliable play at the lead guard spot for The District Basketball Club.
“I’m a high motor guy. I love defense. I get my teammates involved, and try to be the perfect point guard,” Savage explained. “I’m working on being more consistent on my mid range. Continue to be consistent on offense, and stay with a high motor on defense.”

Each and every game for his teammates and coaches. Savage credits his AAU Head Coach, Devin Williams, for giving him confidence and encouraging him to embrace the leadership role his position requires.
“Definitely my leadership and running the team,” Savage replied when asked what he thinks has been the most improved part of his game in recent months. “Coach Devin (Williams) gave me the keys, and I just have to continue to be a leader. With my actions and my voice.”
Savage is attentive on and off the court. He has a 3.0 GPA, but says he’s working on getting it up to a 3.2 this quarter. Schools like American, Howard, Marshall, and High Point are currently expressing interest in Savage. What can he bring to a college program?
