Prospect Profile: Tre Jackson (2019)
One of the top performers from The Bob Gibbons Invitational this past weekend was Team South Carolina guard Tre Jackson.
The 2019 prospect has been having a solid spring with Team South Carolina and is climbing up college radars with his play. He is going to be a player to watch this season after playing on a tough schedule for Team South Carolina.
Jackson is a 6’1 guard who hails from Blythewood High School and this past season helped lead them to the 5-A SCHSL Championship game. He is a skilled guard who can get to the basket and finish. He can shoot it from the beyond the three-point consistently. He has a good handle with the ball in his hands. “I think the biggest parts of my game are shooting and being poised when I am pressured. I also shoot free-throws well but I need to get to the free-throw line more often,” ht e said regarding what he parts of his game are strong.
Playing with Team South Carolina, Jackson will face some of the best guards in the country every weekend. “My goals for the rest of the summer are to get more offers and get my name out there a little more. I want to also improve my explosiveness,” he said.
Team South Carolina 16U Head Coach Mike Alexander had high praise for Jackson,”Tough nosed kid with a high basketball IQ. Real good feel for the game. Shoots it at a high level and really digs in the on the defensive end. Great teammate and very coachable.”
He has grown 4 inches since his freshman season and he was a double-digit scorer this past season for Blythewood High School. Jackson had this to say about his improvement since last season, “I think the biggest key to my improvement has been my work ethic and the time I have put into getting better. Another key is how humble I am, also going through some things that will make me be a better person and a better basketball player.”
As for his recruiting to date, he currently holds offers from South Carolina State and Southern Miss.
