Prospect Introduction: Kai Robinson (2020)
Combo guard Kai Robinson earned valuable experience as a freshman this past season at Lake Wales Vanguard.
The 2020 guard averaged 3.0 points in 13 appearances including an eight point, three steal performance against City of Life Christian. The 6’1″, 160-pounder is going to be in for an expanded role after the Panthers graduated six seniors after an 18-4 season.
“This season was a good learning process for me, we didn’t go as far as we should of, but I definitely matured and became a better leader both on and off the court,” Robinson told Prep Hoops Florida.
He says he saw the game slow down for him in his first varsity season.
Robinson joined the DC Blue Devils this summer. He wants to keep improving, outwork his opponents and make a name for himself as a leader.
He started his basketball life at age 8 and developed a love for the game instantly.
Robinson pointed to his shooting ability, leadership, competitiveness and ballhandling skills as his biggest strengths.
He says he wants to improve his overall defense, engagement during games. Robinson is in the process of adding muscle to his frame.
Vanguard is going to need someone to step up next to top scorer and rising senior James Lee. Robinson is maturing already and having that experience on varsity last season should help his game. Look for Robinson to turn some heads as a sophomore.
