Prospect Introduction: Edwin Colon (2020)
It’s never too early to talk about the young group of basketball.
2020 forward Edwin Colon played freshman ball at Osceola last season and will be part of the JV team this fall. At 6’5″, he’s a lengthy wing who is growing into his body as we speak.
“When we started the season I was doing bad and I wasn’t getting a lot of play time so I started to put in more work,” Colon told Prep Hoops Florida. “I got my starting spot back and know I’m doing better than before and I got better because of Bakari [Johnson] was pushing me to my full potential.”
Colon is running with the D.C. Blue Devils, a team he’s been with since last year. He’s focused on getting better and training for his sophomore campaign.
” I love playing with them, we can be the best team,” he said. “All we have to do is play as a team and work together.”
Starting his basketball life at age 7, Colon says he’s been training ever since.
He pointed to his ability to shoot, rebound and dribble as his biggest strengths. He’s aiming to get stronger to improve his game.
No offers or interests have come in for Colon just yet, but he’s getting valuable experience with the Blue Devils and he’s on his way up. Growing and filling out, Colon will be a 2020 wing to monitor. He’s waiting for his chance at Osceola and he most certainly will flourish once he works up to varsity.
