Grassroots : Big Shots-Charlotte 2021-2022
Prep Hoops saw plenty of talent on the opening day of the Big Shots-Charlotte event at Carolina Courts. Prep Hoops will take a look at some of the top young players from the 2021-2022 class we saw in this article.
Jacob Newman (2022) – Alexander Graham M.S. (Charlotte) – Team Loaded NC 704 (pictured)
Newman got to the basket whenever he wanted to today. Newman has a great feel for the game and shows unreal body control attacking the basket. Newman will be ranked one of the top players in 2022 class.
Jeremy Gregory (2022) – Carmel Christian (Charlotte) – Team Loaded NC 704
Gregory playing in the post has a soft touch from 10-12 feet. Gregory posted up in the paint and seems to have a very good knowledge for the game.
Bralen “BJ” Morris (2022) – Clemmons M.S. (Winston Salem) – Team Loaded NC 704
Morris plays in the paint and rebounds everything around him. Morris is more of a third option behind Newman and Gregory on this talented squad.
Jalen Hood-Schifino (2022) – Bailey M.S. (Cornelius) – Team Charlotte 13
Hood-Schifino 6’0 plays so poised for being just 13 years old. Hood-Schifino is very skilled with the ball and knocks down shots from all 3 levels.
Bryce Alfino (2021) – Bailey M.S. (Cornelius) – Team Charlotte 13
Alfino will enter the 9th grade next fall at Hough HS he told Prep Hoops. Alfino is just 13 years old. Alfino already 6’1 just over matched players with his size. Alfino and Hood-Schifino are a great tandem for the years to come in the Queen City.
Camian Shell (2021) – Flatrock M.S. (Winston Salem) – Team Winston White 15U
Prep Hoops first saw Shell a few weeks back in Greensboro, NC during the NCAA Live Period. Shell Jr. scored 24 points. Shell is a shifty 5’3 point guard playing up for his age group. Shell has the ability to switch gears and get by defenders with really no problem at all. Shell shows quick hands to be a pesky defender.
