Emmitt Williams talks summer with E1T1 and “dream” Duke offer
Ever since he arrived on the high school basketball scene, Emmitt Williams has been going viral with his ferocious dunks.
The 2018 IMG forward is a fan favorite and rightfully so. He has a high motor on the court and is one of the nicest guys you’ll meet off of it.
He earned offer No. 12 on Tuesday from one of the best college programs in the country in Duke.
Williams told me that the Duke offer means a lot. He also went on to say that “he never dreamed that the best coach in the world would call his phone and offer him.”
Well, the 6’8″, 200-pounder can add the Blue Devils to his list of offers. His other offers include FSU, Kansas, Louisville, LSU, UF, Baylor, Kansas State, N.C. State, Penn State, TCU, Vanderbilt and Texas A&M.
He also has interest from Iowa State, Mississippi State, Stetson, Miami, UCF and West Virginia.
Williams says he’s planning on improving everything he does on the court this summer with E1T1. He’s been aiming to better his outside jumper, something that I’ve noticed over the past few tournaments in Florida. It has shown.
He says Kodak Black and Young Thug are his two favorite rappers to listen to before games.
Williams says he prays every day to his best friend and “brother”, Stefan Strawder, a former teammate of his at Lehigh who was killed last July at a Ft. Myers nightclub.
Whenever you watch Williams play, you see the motor and intensity. He could be out of breath, but he’s still going 100 percent. The kid is a trooper and more high major Division-I programs are going to offer before the summer is over. He will thrive once again at IMG as a senior where he’ll look to expand his overall game.
