Day 1 Stock Risers from the PrepHoops Oklahoma State Tournament
The Prep Hoops Oklahoma State Tournament got off to a quick start Friday evening with immense talent and some competitive games. Here are some of the top performers who rose their stock Day 1.
Brock Schreiner 2018 Primetime
Like the Primetime, Schreiner had a slow first half as his team trailed 23-17. However, the 5’11 point guard came out in the second half on fire.
He made a living at driving to the basket and finishing tough layups to spark an early run for Primetime to begin the final half.
Schreiner also found his teammates for open shots which was big for a squad that was struggling to score. He is one of the main reasons why his team came out with the victory over a talented BTR 17U squad.
Braden Boyer 2018 BTR
Boyer is one of the most talented big man in this entire tournament. He has the quick twitch nerve where he can get off the floor quickly for offensive rebounds or drop off layups.
Boyer didn’t touch the ball on the block but when he did something positive happened. Boyer has a great up and under move in the post which is lethal for defenders who have never checked him before.
Boyer also was an excellent rim protector. He continuously bothered the Primetime’s layup attempts. Boyer will be a huge get for a major D2 to get such a talent with a high ceiling.
Peyton Roberson 2019 Game Changer
Roberson is a lethal shooter for his age and is quickly improving his skills with the ball in his hands. The 2019 guard found a way to get to the free throw line where he was efficient even hitting the game sealing throws.
Versus a tough OKC Wolfpack 16U squad, Robertson made is tough for his defender to ever relax.
Robertson has a higher IQ then most his age so he used screens to get open and he was always on attack mode. Shooting is the foundation of his game but he is becoming more versatile on offense.
Shane Didiuk 2018 OK PWP Red
After receiving a local scholarship offer, Didiuk didn’t rest on his morals. He is a skilled offensive player and he put that on display on Friday. Didiuk is a great athlete who shows flashes every now and then.
You can usually find Didiuk on the perimeter spotting up where he is dangerous. He did a good job on Friday of attacking the basket and hitting open shots.
He was a leader for OK PWP 17U Select and they leaned on him to come out with a score the basketball.
Dayten Holman 2020 Norman Elite
Holman is the best player on the court in most 15U games. Size, skill, and IQ is what makes Holman a special prospect to look out for in the future. As for now, the 2020 guard is dominating his opposition.
Friday evening, Holman showed his ability to score at all three levels. With his great length, he is able to finish over bigs and create havoc on defense. Holman will be a known name this time next year.
Tre Carolina 2019 BTR 16U
Carolina had a solid sophomore year and he kept that momentum this summer with BTR 16U.
Carolina has a nice floater in the lane which he used Friday evening in a victory over Next Level Elite.
The 2019 guard ran the show for his team and made the right plays. He has a tight handle and is tough to keep in front of him.
BTR has some talented guards but none are as good as Carolina at setting the table and getting players where they need to be.
