Battle at the Lakes: The Talent
This weekend the Battle at the Lakes will include a strong group of talent from the Upper Midwest and 16 states around the country. Here are some top names.
Yor Anei of Team Rush. A 6-foot-10 center from Shawnee Mission South who is a top five talent in Kansas. Yor has offers from Central Arkansas and U of Denver.
Justin Balcome of Comets Servaty. A 6-foot-9 developing big with offers from Northeast CC and Valley City State, Air Force interest, and several D2 schools calling on him.
Drew Blair of Wisconsin Academy K. A 6-foot-3 wing with division two potential . Blair is one of the key players at Stevens Point High School.
Cole Bergan of Pentagon National Team. The Aberdeen face-up forward is agile and skilled which led to SDSU and NDSU to offer over a year ago. NDSU was a regular at his games.
Christian Bishop of Team Rush. A 6-foot-7 small forward from Lee’s Summit who has offers from Wichita State, Kansas State, Missouri, and Tulsa. He’s a top ten area talent in Missouri.
JC Butler of Caron Butler Elite. A top ten player in the state of Wisconsin, the 6-foot-4 wing has an offer from Wisconsin-Green Bay and interest from several programs around the country. His father is former NBA player Caron Butler.
George Conditt Jr of Team RWA. The 6-foot-10 frontcourt talent has scholarship offers from UTEP and Chicago State plus a growing list of interest from programs around the Midwest.
Jarius Cook of Powerhouse Minnesota. The smooth Park Center guard is hearing from several D1 programs in the Midwest and is on the verge of being a break out prospect.
John Diener of Wisconsin Blizzard Hawley. The 6-foot-4 guard of Cedarburg is committed to DePaul. Diener is the best player on a quality Blizzard team that is ranked in the top 250 in the nation.
Michael Fletcher of Greenwood Elite 16U. Fletcher is a top ten level talent in Michigan and has helped lead his team to the top 25 teams in the nation.
Both Gach of D1 Minnesota. Both led his team to the state final this year as a top shooter, creator, and finisher. Both was offered by North Dakota this week and has interest from several other programs.
Matthew Hurt of D1 Minnesota. Hurt is a five star talent with offers from nearly all in the nation. Matthew is a top three player in his grade although he’s currently out with a broken hand.
Messiah Jones of Caron Butler Elite. The 6-foot-6 power forward from Simeon is the 8th ranked player in Illinois and a talent developing interest from several programs. Will be one of the event’s most productive players.
Danny Kolp of 1 Nation. Kolp is a top 15 talent in Michigan starting to draw interest from D1 schools including offers from Toledo and Central Michigan. He’s a 6-foot-9 skilled forward that has range to his jumper and is listed as a small forward.
Derek Krogmann of Iowa Barnstromers 16s. The 6-foot-6 power forward has an offer from North Dakota and is continuing to gain interest. Ranked as the fourth best prospect in Iowa’s sophomore class Derek is from Manchester, Iowa.
Dylan LeBrun of Pentagon National Team. A 6-foot-6 skilled guard coming off a great winter, Dylan has an Augustana offer and interest from several programs. LeBrun put up 23 a game this winter.
Jordan Lathon of Team Rush. Lathon is one of the top talents in Missouri and he has offers from Wake Forest, FGCU, Butler, DePaul, Colorado, Boise State, Air Force, and Tulsa at this point. He’s a 6-foot-4 combo guard.
Tyree Martin of Team Rose. A 6-foot-8 power forward out of Chicago that has so far earned offers from Tulsa and Illinois-Chicago. A top 12 talent in Illinois.
Treavon Martin of Team Rose. Also a top 12 talent in Illinois, Treavon has the exact some profile of his twin brother Tyree with the same college options.
Patrick McCaffery of Iowa Barnstormers 16s. RJ has his team in the top 25 in the nation at the 16U level and is a nationally ranked prospect in the 2019 class. Iowa has offered Iowa’s top sophomore.
RJ McGhee of Young & Restless. RJ is a top 20 player in the state of Illinois and he’s from Kenwood. A 6-foot-3 shooting guard with explosive ability.
Pierre Mitchell of 1Nation. A top twenty level player in the state of Michigan, the Detroit guard is also one of the five best point guards in the state.
Shae Mitchell of D1 Minnesota. An agile 6-foot-7 forward with offers from Northern Iowa, Drake, Ball State, and Drexel that has improved as a shooter and can explode to the rim.
Kendle Moore of Team Rose. A 5-foot-10 point guard from Danville with D1 offers so far from Drake, Toledo, William & Mary, Loyola (IL), and Illinois State. Moore is an explosive scorer and dynamic playmaker.
De’Monte Nelson of Butler Elite. A spark plug guard from Kenosha Bradford that pushes the pace for his team. He’s from Kenosha Bradford High School.
Deundra Roberson of 43 Hoops. The athletic guard helped his team to the state semi-finals and guided 43 to a win over D1 Minnesota earlier in the year. Long armed explosive playmaker.
Michael Schaefer of Powerhouse Minnesota. Six-foot-5 guard who just led his team to the state tournament and now his three point shooting and aggressive finishes have schools like Santa Clara, Army, NDSU, Princeton, and others at the D1 level plus offers from Minnesota State Moorhead and St. Cloud State.
Trae Steckler of ND Phenom. Steckler has played PG, works in the post, gets nearly double figure boards, hits threes, and all around does some of everything. Steckler was just offered by Valley City State.
Hunter Strait of Team Iowa. A 6-foot-1 point guard that is capable of scoring in big numbers or creating for his teammates. Ranked as the sixth top prospect in the state of Iowa.
Tyrell Terry of D1 Minnesota 16s. Smooth leader who has been the PG on a state title team the last two years. Was recently offered by Iowa and North Dakota.
Race Thompson of D1 Minnesota. The top 100 talent with offers from Indiana, Baylor, Minnesota, Marquette, Iowa State, Northwestern, and several others is a skilled combo forward who can play three spots for his team.
Reme Torbert of 1Nation. An unsigned senior out of Southfield, Torbert is a six foot shooting guard who is a top 30 senior in the state of Michigan.
Tyson Tully of Wisconsin Academy K. A 6-foot-4 talent drawing division two interest, Tully is from Reesdsburg, Wisconsin.
Tre Vallar of Greenwood Elite. A standout from the Route 66 Kickoff, Vallar is a top six foot point guard that has put up strong numbers for his team so far this spring.
Tyler Wahl of D1 Minnesota 16s. The Lakeville North agile forward can play both spots and is hearing from mid-majors from all around the Midwest. Wahl was offered by North Dakota this week.
Calvin Wishart of D1 Minnesota. The Delano guard recently picked up D1 offers from Towson and North Dakota. He’s the D1 Minnesota ball handler who put up 27, eight, and eight this season.
