2020: Fast Risers (Part 3)
The summer is crucial for all of the talent across the United States. In Florida, there are a ton of players looking to not only improve their overall games but also draw more attention from the top college programs.
Here is a look at the third set of fast risers in the class of 2020.
Naseem Khaalid (First Coast)
Khaalid had a stellar freshman season, leading First Coast with 17.3 points per game. Khaalid 6’1″, 170 lbs. He has five offers from FSU, UNLV, Rutgers, North Florida and Stetson. His scoring and ballhandling ability is top notch. He’s already having a big summer for the Showtime Ballers. Expect him to a blow up even further as a sophomore. Khaalid ranks No. 3 in our class rankings.
Leonard Manuel (Ocala Vanguard)
A wide receiver and defensive back at Vanguard, you can see Manuel’s pure athleticism on the scene on the basketball court. The 6’4″, 205-pounder plays like a veteran and that is a great thing for this upcoming season as he matures further. He currently has over 20 offers for football from the likes of Miami, Texas, FSU, UNC and Auburn. He’s that good to draw attention for basketball as well. He ranks No. 5 in our class rankings.
Jadrian Tracey (SWFL Christian)
Tracey is part of a deep Southwest Florida Christian group that made a state run a year ago. Nicknamed “Bam Bam”, Tracey is long at 6’5″, 180 lbs. His game is expanding and so is his confidence. Tracey is at his best when he is attacking the best. He’s bettering his game with E1T1 this summer after averaging 10.8 points per game as a freshman. Tracey ranks No. 8 in our class rankings.
Jamal Mashburn Jr. (Gulliver Prep)
Playing for the Miami Vipers this summer, coached by Manny Bloom. At Gulliver Prep, Mashburn Jr. turned into a star averaging 23.3 points per game as a freshman. The 6’0″, 165-pounder had a ton of big games as a freshman. He’s only going to get better this upcoming season. He ranks No. 10 in our class rankings.
Tre Gilliam (Gibbs)
Not intimidating at 5’10”, 150 lbs., Gilliam is a pure shooter and he can score at a high clip hence his 13.1 PPG average. The Gibbs guard is looking to improve with the Georgia Stars this summer and I’m sure all that competition will help his game. As long as Gilliam gets stronger and attacks the hoop, the better off he’ll be. He ranks No. 15 in our class rankings.
