Now former-Elliott County standout guard Korbin Spencer has decided to transfer to Hargrave Military Academy to finish out his high school basketball career. He informed @PrepHoopsKY of his intentions in late May. “I am really excited for the opportunity and grateful to Coach A.W. Hamilton and his staff for allowing me to be a part of the program,” said Spencer.
The 2019 prospect just completed his sophomore season at Elliott County High School in Kentucky’s 16th Region. The 6’2 guard helped lead the Lions to back-to-back state tournament appearances, finishing 26-4 this season. He averaged 22.3 points and 6 rebounds per game.
You can still find Korbin playing AAU ball with Indiana Elite 16U team this summer. IE will be gearing back up in July for the Adidas Gauntlet Finale series (July 12-16) in Spartanburg, SC. Then they’ll travel to Los Angeles for the “Cream of the Crop” event (July 19th) and end their summer in Las Vegas at the Adidas 64.
Spencer was sidelined at the beginning of the AAU season due to an ankle injury. He has since recovered and assisted Indiana Elite in their Adidas Gauntlet Chicago regional championship, scoring 12 points – stealing it 3 times and grabbing 5 rebounds.
