Caleb Dawkins | 6’2” WG | Grassfield/Team Loaded 757 (#62 Overall)
He has it in his genes from his brother who was a former star at Duke, and the other Dawkins is coming into his own now. He has effortless range from deep, can play and guard either guard position and is an above average athlete. He just has to continue to improve both physically and on the court, and continue to make an impact.
Mac Burgett | 6’5” WF | LC Bird/Dreamchasers (#63 Overall)
He’s one that we’ve picked as a possibe breakout player for a revamped Bird team that needs a versatile wing. At 6’5″ Burgett has good size to play on the wing, and the lefty can really shoot it from deep when he gets it going. He has a high IQ, can play multiple positions and is a great teammate making him the perfect glue guy.
Miles Jones | 6’6” PF/WF | Radford/Team Winston (#64 Overall)
The son of Radford coach Mike Jones, Myles took big leaps this season on the way to Radford’s second straight state title. He’s an inside-out threat offensively as he can score in the paint and hit the set shot out to 3 pointer. His versatility is there defensively as well, as he can switch and stay in front of guards on pick and rolls. He’s athletic, has good touch and continues to improve the right way.
Kavon James | 6’0” WG | Cox/Team Thrill VA (#75 Overall)
He needs to add weight, but this kid is a sniper of the highest category. He has a lightning quick release, effortless range from deep and he’s always moving and getting to his spots whether it’s in the half court or in transition. He’s a volume shooter but he can hang point up in bunches when he gets it going, and if he can work on his ball handling and point guard play it would open his game a lot.
Izeah Parker | 6’7” PF | Hopewell/Team Loaded 757 (#79 Overall)
Talk about a kid that’s full of potential, Parker is just starting to scratch the surface with his ability. He’s long and athletic for a four man, allowing him to make plays on both ends of the floor and all over the floor. He’s great in face up situations and is a mismatch for four men who can’t step outside and guard him out there.
Jordan Crump | 6’0” WG | Highland Springs (#87 Overall)
Crump is a knockdown shooter that put up huge numbers as a sophomore at Highland Springs. He’s better off the ball because of his catch-and-shoot ability, but he also showed the ability to break guys down going downhill and get to the basket. If he can continue to improve his ball handling and point guard ability he should see a big jump in his production across the board.
Jonathan Mondrey | 6’3” WG/WF | Monacan/Team Richmond (#88 Overall)
Mondrey is a big, strong wing for his age and while he’s still figuring somethings out he was able to carve a nice niche as a sophomore on a good Monacan team. He rebounds really well for a guard, can guard multiple positions and is good in transition where he can finish and clean up. He’s a good shooter from deep, and if he continues to improve he could take a big leap moving forward.
Gaines Swink | 6’0” WG/PG | Madison (#95 Overall)
A crafty combo guard with a good feel, Swink was huge in Madison County’s 2A East Championship before falling in the state semifinals. He’s a three level scorer that can play on or off the ball, and his natural instincts allow him to make plays for himself and others. He was named Second Team All State for the VHSL 2A Classification.
Lorenz Boykin | 6’0” WG/WF | Glen Allen (#98 Overall)
Boykin is a positionless guy that’s able to take advantage of mismatches because of his size and skill set. He has broad shoulders that he’s able to get past defenders off the bounce and use his strength to finish through contact, and he can also shoot the midrange really well. He can play and guard all over the floor, and he’s a productive stat sheet stuffer across the board.
