The South Dakota All State Team
South Dakota’s All State Team. The select few players that stood out over all the rest. The best of the best in South Dakota.
First Team
Matt Cartwright of SF O’Gorman (6-5 senior wing). Class AA MVP. State Champion. Number one senior prospect in the state. Matt fulfilled all expectations with a brilliant senior season especially down the stretch.
Mason Archambault of RC Stevens (6-2 senior guard). Mason is the state’s most explosive scorer going at the basket and that’s why he’s been one of the top names considered for the player of the year awards.
Tayton Vincent, Sioux Valley (6-3, senior PG). Our Class A Player of the year is headed to Augustana after a fantastic senior year that included several clutch moments.
Ethan Freidel, Tea Area (6-1, senior SG). The Class A State Tournament MVP saved one of his best performances for his last game where he led Tea Area to the state title.
Sam Arend, Bridgewater-Emery, 6-1, Senior. Another senior leader and another state champion that earned his way to a great season. B-E was perfect this year and Sam was a big reason why.
Second Team
JP Costello of SF O’Gorman (6-6 senior power forward). The winner of the Spirit of Su winner is also a state champion, an all conference performer, and an all state tournament team member.
Cole Bergan of Aberdeen Central (6-7 junior power forward). Took his team to the state championship game after a fantastic four game playoff run where Bergan played at a very high level.
Aaron Fiegen, Madison (6-6, junior, PF). Madison’s top all around player and very skilled talent. Fiegen was first team Dak12 and the top scorer and rebounder on a top Class A team.
Seth Friesz, Chamberlain (6-1, senior SG). Friez was among the top scorers in the state and he led his team to the state tournament again with outstanding playoff performances.
Bennett White, Wolsey-Wessington (senior wing). It was another great year for his school and another fantastic season for White leading his team to the state title game.
Third Team
Brennan Carlson of Brookings (6-3 senior wing). Brookings won 20 games this year with Carlson leading the way as the lone all state tournament member and an all conference honored talent.
AJ Plitzuweit, Vermillion (6-2, junior SG). The addition of AJ to South Dakota high school basketball added another recruitable talent to the ranks, one that averaged 24 a game scoring in many ways.
Noah Freidel, Tea Area (6-4, sophomore SF). Noah is right now the most recruitable sophomore talent in the state of South Dakota and an all around performer of the state champ
Bradley Dean of Pierre TF Riggs (6-0 senior guard). The Governor leader was able to get his team on a late season run and he was honored by the conference and the state tournament for his accomplishments.
Lincoln Jorde of Sully Buttes (6-9 junior center). Lincoln is one of the most dangerous low post threats in the state and he took his team all the way to the biggest stage in SD high school hoops.
Mason Larson, Langford Area (6-7 junior forward). Langford had another great year and Mason proved to be one of the state’s most versatile all around players.
