Recruiting Report: Jude Joseph (2018)
Louisiana’s 51st-ranked 2019, 5-foot-11 point guard Jude Joseph is a fantastic basketball player, but a better football prospect.
And though the St. Thomas More guard hasn’t ruled out playing hoops in college, he says recruitment is much more active for football right now.
“I definitely would love to play football at the next level, but if that doesn’t work out then I wouldn’t mind playing basketball, because I love playing both of them really,” said Joseph.
“I have a lot more looks for football, definitely. Not any offers though, I’ll probably get some this summer. I’ve got Louisiana-Monroe interested, TCU, Texas State and Sam Houston State, right now.”
“For basketball, I’ve had Northwestern State send me some letters, that’s about it though.”
As a junior, Joseph helped lead his team to a state tournament appearance as the starting point guard. He says his role was to be a primary distributor to his team’s bevy of sharpshooters.
“When I’m on the floor, I just try and get my teammates involved and I like to drive and kick. And I try and play defense as best I can and guard the best player on the floor every game,” said Joseph.
“Next season I want to do more scoring, we’re losing our leading scorer and I’ll have to step-up and score more.”
