Recruiting Report: Christian Bishop (2018)
Few players across the state saw their profile raise more over the past year than Lee’s Summit West 2018 forward Christian Bishop.
Playing alongside 2017 forward and Bradley recruit Elijah Childs, Bishop was a part of one of the state’s premier front lines and helped his Titan squad advance all the way to the Missouri Class 5 state championship game this past season.
A long, rangy 6’8 forward who can play along the baseline and finish plays with authority, Bishop says the season was a dream come true.
“Advancing to the state championship game is a once in a lifetime feeling, it is probably one of the happiest moments I’ve had in my basketball career,” Bishop said. “The season at Lee’s Summit West was tough and there was no easy games given to us.”
This spring, he is teaming up with Grandview 2018 standout Jordan Lathon, Park Hill South 2018 guard Ronnie Bell, Shawnee Mission South 2018 forward Yor Anei, and others as part of Team Rush. The squad will be competing this spring and summer on the Adidas Gauntlet circuit.
“Some areas of my game I’m focused to work on to improving is becoming a better shooter and perimeter player, and also work on becoming a more physical player,” Bishop said.
Bishop currently holds offers from Missouri and Tulsa and has heard from numerous other NCAA Division I programs, including Creighton, Wichita State and Florida Gulf Coast.
