Five Points
- First off Michael Jones is about to bring many schools to see the Fury play. Jones has some JP Macura to him. We aren’t saying he will be a top 100 guy like JP was as JP was bigger, longer, and was a top 100 guy. But Jones is a top ten guy in this state and scores with an attitude. Love watching him compete and he will bring many schools to Fury games.
- Much of this team was with Fury last year. I believe six of them were on the team together and that would be Jones, Rolland, Tiedman, Phipps, and the St. Louis Park kids. That is more than half of the team meaning they should have very good chemistry plus they have the same coach as they’ve had in Wilde.
- What’s new? They have a forward with potential in Smith who is long and agile but needs seasoning. Charlie Jacob already has a couple offers so that tells you that he is a nice grab. Jack Burger had a great year for the Elks and he’s been added. And speaking of great year, Galinson defended well and knocked out shots for Wayzata.
- They will be tough to score over in the middle and all of their size is different. Phipps is your big center with about 6-foot-9 size and in today’s world they will likely call him 6-foot-10 on a college roster. Rolland is the battler who moves so good on ball screens and in help. Smith is the wiry forward with agility but needs some growth. Then you have Tiedman who is one of the most relentless workers and top defenders who can guard about four positions.
- This team will be in St. Cloud this weekend, they play in the Midwest Live event in Ames and then I believe Under Armour Jam Fest in Pittsburgh over the live period, they have the Fury Shootout, and of course the SPTS events. That should be their spring I think.
