Five Points
- The first thing you notice is that these Iowa kids on the Attack 17s are going to be major contributors. Arends was the leading scorer for Sioux Center who was 15-9 and he did that shooting over 45 percent from the arc plus he led in steals and was second in assists. Pottebaum played for a 16-7 team and shot just under 50 percent from the arc! Sheldon High was 18-5 and not only did Jaden get his nearly 14 a night but he led in assists and was the best three point shooter on the team with nearly 38 percent from the arc. The Iowa kids on this Attack team, they can shoot the ball and they were top players on winning teams.
- We have our eyes closely on two South Dakota players to see what they can do as prospects. One is Connor Crane who picked up several post season honors this year and will be one of the best Class AA seniors next year. He grabbed a lot of attention with his versatility playing inside and out. Can he do that at this level of play?
- Zwagerman was a beast of a worker. His effort for the state champions was always one of the first things pointed out. The Knights lose a lot of seniors and Zwagerman was the best junior so he will be the torch bearer. Is he up for the task? Seven events with the Attack should get him ready for the task.
- Altenburg and McCabe were role guys for state tournament teams. Both of these state tournament teams had some slow moments but played their best basketball late and Chase and Jack were key parts of that. The Attack needs them to play similar roles this year. They and the Roosevelt duo of Reiff and Riggs feel like the depth of the club and if they play well it will be a good year for the Attack.
- The Attack put together a solid schedule where we will have the chance to see them for sure this weekend, in Minneapolis at the NY2LA event, at the Great Plains Alliance, and Summer Slam events plus they are in the Midwest Showcase in Omaha and the Hardwood Classic in Kansas. These are solid events that should give this club the right level of competition.
