Prospect Spotlight: Jordan Grant (2018)
2018 guard Jordan Grant is a reliable defender and slasher for Olympia.
The 5’11”, 160-pounder averaged 7.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.4 steals on the season. Grant opened his junior campaign with a career-best 22 point game in a victory over Colonial. He came up big with a 15-point outing later in the season in a four-point win over Lake Highland Prep.
Olympia finished 11-16 in Class 9A and missed the playoffs. Grant said his group faced a lot of challenges on the season.
“I learned what it takes to be a leader,” Grant told Prep Hoops Florida.” Also, the part of my game that grew the most was me being more confident in myself and showing people that I can play.”
Grant moved over to Team M.O.A.M. this summer to play on the Adidas Gauntlet. He’s aiming to be more consistent and get his name out there a bit more.
Starting his basketball life at age 5, he first took the game seriously in the 3rd grade during AAU ball.
Grant called his biggest strengths his ability to get past defenders and shot overall. He wants to improve being consistent with his overall game.
He hasn’t earned an offer yet, but Grant has drawn interest from Division-II and Division-III programs.
Serving as a contributor off the bench as a sophomore helped him boost his confidence as a starter a season ago. Playing with M.O.A.M. this summer has already paid dividends for Grant. He was hustling down the floor last weekend at the E1T1 Invitational, squaring up his defenders and blocking shots in transition.
