Prospect Spotlight: Jalen Thomas (2017)
Even though he’s graduating in June, 5-10 Steilacoom guard Jalen Thomas already misses basketball.
“Playing in the SPSL (South Puget Sound League) was a really fun experience for me,” Thomas said. “I’ve come across so many good coaches and players, I’m going to miss it.”
Thomas is an athletic point guard that loves to push the pace. He likes to constantly attack the basket and make the defense work as hard as possible.
“My other strengths are my dribbling skills and court vision,” Thomas said. “I am also a crafty finisher when I get to the rack.”
One thing that Thomas wants to work on is his jump shot off the dribble, which will hopefully help him play basketball at the next level.
“I am very interested in playing basketball at the collegiate level,” Thomas said. “I’m leaning towards walking on somewhere.”
Thomas said that the lone school that was recruiting him was Pacific Lutheran University.
During his senior season he averaged 10 points, 5.2 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 3.1 steals per game.
