Post Players to Watch (2018)
As we are starting the frenzy of club basketball, let’s take a look at some of the top forwards in the class of (2018). The depth of this class is thin but there are still some intriguing post prospects.
Emmanuel Akot 6’8 (Wasatch) is one of the top prospects in the entire country. His ability to play inside and out has college coaches drooling. Akot has already verbally committed to the University of Arizona and his only focus is to keep improving as a player.
Mikey Frazier 6’9 (East) (Exum Elite) had a very solid junior season for East High School. He has a very smooth game with his ability to step out and hit the three. I look for him to have a big club season and pick up some mid-major D1 offers.
Ben Mcbride 6’8 (Roy) is a bit of a project but things are coming together for the big man. He will be playing for multiple club teams this spring and summer. I think Mcbride is a good D2 prospect and his ability to shoot and pass will make him a good player at that level.
Brock Anderson 6’7 (Riverton) (UBC) had a good junior year for a struggling Riverton team. He showed that he can score of the dribble and in transition. If Anderson can hone his post skills with a couple of moves I look for him to have a huge senior season. I see him as a D2 prospect.
Cameron Krystkowiak 6’8 (Brighton) had an up and down junior season but had plenty of moments where he looked like a next level player. I look for him to have a nice senior season and see him has a D2 player.
Jalexus Gilson 6’7 (Summit Acadmey) (Salt Lake Rebels) had a very good year at the 2A level. It’ll be interesting to see him play against some stiffer competition this club season. His high school coach reports that he has seen some D2 interest.
