LSWA All-State Team (Class 2A): Romin Williams named MOP
The Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) has chosen the top players in Class 2A for the 2016-17 season and below are their selections for the 1st and 2nd Teams, as well as honorable mentions.
Country Day point guard Romin Williams was named as the Class’ Most Outstanding Player after leading the Cajuns to a 28-8 record capped off by a 70-41 victory over Dunham in the Division III state championship. It was Williams’ third state title with Country Day and he’ll look to rack up more wins on the collegiate level at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
The 5-foot-8 dynamo led the Cajuns to a handful of impressive wins this year including a three-game sweep over Riverside, which boasts Prep Hoops LA’s 4th-ranked player in 2018 PG Jared Butler, who also landed on the 1st team.
