Louisiana Class of 2018 Rankings: High Risers
Jonathan Cisse 6’2 G St. Thomas More/ NOLA BB Club
Cisse is an ultra smooth guard that will have to make the transition to point guard at the next level. He is capable of scoring in bunches, and was far and away the best player on a team that was a missed layup away from the state championship. He will need to continue to work on growing his athleticism, but you never have to worry about turnovers from getting sped up. He received his first D1 offer last season from Stephen F. Austin, and I see him only getting more this summer.
Travonte Sam 6’6 G David Thibodaux/ 6th Man
Sam is a player with a very high basketball IQ, which pairs very well in combination to his physical tools. He can jump out of the gym, and uses his inspector gadget arms to block any shot at the rim. He is also a very capable guard defender and held a lot of high profile players to some of their worst games of the year. All of that in combination with his NBA range make a potential D1 player.
Kendrick Dandy 6’3 G McDonough 35/ New Orleans Elite
Dandy is another smooth guard that can just flat out put the ball in the basket. He uses an array of ball fakes and head fakes to get to the rim whenever he wants, and finishes at a very high rate. He is also a good shooter from the outside, but he needs to continue to improve his ball handling ability in order to reach his true potential.
Eli Mouton 5’7 G Ascension Episcopal/ Louisiana Select Team Milsap
Mouton is a guard with an extremely high basketball IQ. He is capable of keeping the ball on a string, and has some of the best handles in the state. He is very quick with the ball in his hands, and plays with a flashiness that you wouldn’t expect. Mouton has NBA range, and a quick release that he can get off at any time. He will need to continue to get stronger and better at finishing around the goal with size.
Calvin Adams 5’11 G Zachary/ Stateline Raiders
Adams is a big play maker and creator for his teammates. He does a great job at getting into the paint and collapsing the defense before kicking to the open teammate. He has shown very strong leadership qualities in the past, and he is absolutely a player that makes the rest of his team better around him.
