Javonte Smart selected as Louisiana’s Mr. Basketball (Video Highlights)
Scotlandville 2018 PG Javonte Smart is unquestionably one of the nation’s top prospects and the 6-foot-4 standout was selected as the state’s top player on Sunday.
It was the second straight season Smart was named Mr. Basketball by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) and the honor was well-deserved after averaging 25.1 points, 8.7 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 2.1 steals per game.
Smart is also a two-time Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year and led Scotlandville to its second title in three seasons with two last-second free throws against Brother Martin (53-52) in the Division I state title game.
