Iyaye rising in the Oklahoma 2018 Class
Saturday morning at 8am, Adokiye Iyaye had a great stage with a good amount of college coaches in the building to watch his early morning game against Indiana Pro. Only thing is most of the coaches were there to see a lefty on Indiana Pro, Iyaye took advantage of the moment and played extremely well impressing in front of the large audience of coaches on both ends of the floor.
Iyaye is ranked the third best player in the Oklahoma 2018 Class. He is a smooth Combo Guard with a couple of Division I offers on the table, most notably holding an offer from UTSA. The RoadRunners of UTSA were in full force watching Iyaye play three deep at times on Saturday.
Iyaye shot the ball well from behind the arc Saturday using his quick and smooth jumper to dissect defenses. Expect more Division I programs to recruit Iyaye as the April and July live periods pass. He is just at the very beginning of his recruitment.
Schools will be attracted to recruit Iyaye due to his 6’2, college ready body, jump shot, hustle, grit and will to battle on both ends of the floor. The lock down defense of Iyaye is one of his best attributes on the court. Iyaye can guard 1-3 extremely well with his good footwork and the determination he brings night in and night out on the defensive end. It is easy to tell he enjoys playing defense and locking down his opponent.
Iyaye scored the ball well throughout the day for Gym Time Hoops on the Adidas Circuit. Look for a big spring and summer from him at the Combo Guard spot.
