Grassroots TOC: Saturday Standouts (2019-2021)
Prep Hoops took in action at the Grassroots Challenge TOC at two different locations in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Prep Hoops took notice of which players from the Tar Heel State that stood out today.
Nel-Sean Starstine (2021) James E. Shephard Middle School (Durham)- Durham Hurricanes 2021 14u
Starstine 5’6 point guard is a crafty little player that dribbles through traffic and will find the open man. Starstine took several charges here today.
Jalen Walker (2021) Fellowship Baptist Academy (Durham)- Durham Hurricanes 2021 14u
Walker 6’3 plays in the post for the Hurricanes. Walker cleaned up on the glass and scored the ball on many put backs. Walker has a good nose for the ball and always seemed to be in position on the floor.
Daniel Fox (2021) C.W. Stanford Middle School (Hillsborough)- Durham Hurricanes 2021 14u
Fox 5’7 shooting guard shot the ball well behind the arc today. Fox finished on contact several times attacking the basket.
Will Watts (2019) Lake Norman Charter (Huntersville)-Charlotte Nets-16u
Watts 5’11 is a very aggressive defender on the floor. Watts had seven steals that manufactured into Nets baskets. Watts was the leading scorer with 10 points in the win over 3 ball elite.
Tre’Von Barnes (2019) Zebulon B. Vance (Charlotte)-Charlotte Nets-16U
Barnes 6’4 small forward has a nice mid-range game.
Sean Hauser (2019) Christian United Christian Academy (Charlotte)-Charlotte Nets-16u
Hauser 6’8 has a good look for his age. Hauser looks to be more polished on the defensive end of the floor.
Drake Thompson (2020) Hillside- Durham Hurricanes 2020-15u (pictured on the front)
Phillips a post player had 10 rebounds in the game today. Phillips played with his back to the basket.
