Grassroots Preview: Utah Hard Knox
With the AAU season underway, the Utah Hard Knox are geared up to have a great season with some very talented players. I expect their 15U, 16U, and 17U to all be very competitive. I’m going to highlight several players on each of their teams.
15U
Mason Falslev 6’1 Guard (Sky View) had one of the best freshman seasons in years for the Sky View Bobcats. He averaged over 13 points per game in leading the Bobcats to a 18-4 record. In the process, Falslev picked up an offer from Utah State University. He should have college coaches lined up to see him play this live period.
Andre Mulibea 6’3 Guard (East) might be the best prospect in Utah from the class of 2020. With his size and athleticism he is able to blow by defenders and finish at the rim. This season for East he averaged 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists per game. I think he could be a high-major prospect.
16U
Landon Brenchley 6’2 Guard (Ridgeline) has a smooth game with his ability to shoot the ball and get to the basket.I expect him to have a huge club season and to be one of the top junior guards in 4A next year. This year he averaged around 8 points per game for the 3A state champs Ridgeline high school.
Tyson Garff 6’4 Guard (Davis) is a big-time shooter who should play a bigger role as a junior for Davis High School. With his length and height he is a perfect build for a shooting guard. Garff still needs to add some weight to his frame but I see him as one of the most underrated 2019 guards in Utah.
17U
Josh Christensen 6’5 Guard (Jordan) has the build and athleticism of a high major D1 player and colleges are starting to notice. Utah State University has stopped by his practices to watch him play and I expect more college to do so in the future. Christensen is still pretty raw but the future is bright if he continues to develop.
Truman Brown 6’2 Guard (Layton) had a great year for his high school team that won their region title and made it to the second round of the 5A state tournament. Brown is a tough player that can shoot the three and find a way to finish in the paint. He is a lower level college prospect but would be a great addition.
