Grassroots Preview: Team Vision (17u)
The AAU season is upon us here in Kentucky and around the country. With teams starting to roll out their rosters and events heating up, Prep Hoops Kentucky previews grassroots programs from around the Bluegrass.
Team Vision, coached by longtime Kentucky high school coach and Coach/Director of Vision Prep Cameron Jackson, will compete on the adidas Gauntlet Silver Circuit and a number of other events throughout the summer.
TEAM VISION (17U) ROSTER
#0 Cameron Maddox, Louisville Doss (6’3, Guard) – 2017
Maddox helped lead Doss to a 22-11 overall record this past high school season. The senior averaged 11.8 points and made over 60 3’s, shooting over 40% from beyond the arc.
#1 Solomon Mathis, Kentucky Country Day (5’11, Guard) – 2018
Mathis averaged 17 points per game as a junior this season while shooting 46% from the field. He has interest from a number of different schools at many different levels, from NAIA to D-1.
#2 Eric Powell, Lafayette (6’2, Guard) – 2018
Powell averaged 11.2 points and 3 rebounds per game as a junior at Lafayette this season.
#4 Issac Mushilla, Mt. Mission (6’5, Forward) – 2018
#5 Bryce Slone, Boyle County (6’0, Guard) – 2018
Slone lit up the nets for Boyle County, averaging 18 points per game while shooting 46% from the field. Slone also knocked down over 80 3’s, shooting 40% from beyond the arc.
#11 Terrance Murphy, Bryan Station (6’2, Guard) – 2018
Murphy averaged 13.5 points and 3 rebounds as a junior at Bryan State this season.
#13 Marcus Ashford, Paris (5’10, Guard) – 2018
Ashford was a contributor on a Parish team that won 26 games and an “All-A” state tournament championship. He averaged 6 points per game for the Greyhounds.
#14 Trey Hill, Pleasure Ridge Park (6’3, Guard) -2018
Hill is arguably the most talented player on Team Vision’s roster. The guard from Louisville has a number of Division 1 offers, including EKU, VCU, Radford, and Furman. Hill averaged over 15 points per game at Pleasure Ridge Park this past season.
#20 Elliott Brook, Vision Prep (6’9, Forward) – 2017
#23 Romeo Parker, Evansville Bosse (6’7, Forward) – 2017
Parker comes to Team Vision from Evansville Bosse in Indiana. A very athletic forward, Parker will turn some heads with his moves around the basket.
#25 Gerald Gray, Pleasure Ridge Park (6’2, Guard) – 2018
Another prospect from PRP, Gray averaged 12.5 points per game and just under 5 rebounds.
#31 Mohammed Sylla, Mt. Mission (7’0, Center) – 2018
Sylla is sure to get some looks, as he passes the eye test at 7’0. Mt. Mission had a successful prep season, taking Oak Hill Academy to overtime in their final game of the season.
