Class AAA All State Team
Today at NHR we named our Class AAA All State Team led by Class AAA Player of the Year Goanar Mar.
First Team
Goanar Mar of DeLaSalle. Was a member of four Class AAA state championship teams plus put together a fantastic senior year of 21 points, over nine boards, and a couple steals and blocks a contest.
Calvin Wishart of Delano. Wishart put up 27.5 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 8.2 assists a contest. His team won 20 games and Wishart was a constant highlight show all year. He’s the closest thing to a Minnesota Harden numbers wise.
Both Gach of Austin. Both scored 16 plus a game, dished out over four assists a game, grabbed four boards, hit 40 plus percent of his threes, and led Austin to the title game.
Gabe Kalscheur of DeLaSalle. Gabe is a two year starter and a three time varsity player for the six time defending champs. Gabe scored 17-18 in a game playing along side of Goanar Mar. A champ again.
Parker Fox of Mahtomedi. Had 23.3 points and 8.8 rebounds a game for a Mahtomedi team that was at one point second in Class AAA and top ten overall.
Second Team
Jarvis Thomas of Orono. His average of 16 points and ten rebounds a contest helped Orono win 23 games and come closer to beating DeLaSalle than anyone.
Matt Todd of Monticello. An average of 25.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and five assists a night. Huge numbers for a team that struggled early but did get better.
Duoth Gach of Austin. Duoth scored 16 a game like his bother and improved his three point shooting to 43 percent for the Class AAA runner-up.
Wendell Matthews of Columbia Heights. Double-double guy for a state team averaging 16 a night and earned all state tourney for his efforts.
Weston Baker Magrath of Marshall. Was the top performer on a 28-4 Tiger team with his team lead in boards and blocks plus 13 points a night.
Third Team
Max Bjorklund of Orono. The top scorer for the Spartans who put up 20 a game this year and led Orono to being the second best Class AA team in state.
Elijah Colbeck of Fergus Falls. Led the Otters to state as both the leading scorer and he led the tem in assists and steals too.
Simeon Davis of Hill-Murray. Davis led the state in scoring with nearly 31 points a game. His team struggled but his numbers were huge.
Jake Skelly of Grand Rapids. The GR guard led his team to state with 21.5 points per game, six rebounds a contest, and six assists a game.
Nathan Rund of Fergus Falls. Led the Otters back to state with 13 points, three boards, and four assists a game.
Fourth Team
Tyrell Terry of DeLaSalle. The point guard of the Islanders who moved the ball for the champs, was a three point weapon averaging just under double figures, led the team in assists.
Deundra Robinson of Columbia Heights. Led the Hylanders in scoring at nearly 18 a game and really had a great year save a late season injury that had him missing some games.
Malik Willingham of Waseca. The Jays guard led Waseca in scoring and had some huge nights along with teammates Jake Guse and Kaleb Nelson.
Jack Thompson of St. Thomas Academy. Jack and the Cadets were 20 plus again like they used to be and Jack was the leading scorer and the leading in assists.
Amitri Collins-Westlund of St. Paul Highland Park. The Scots had a great year and Amitri led the team with 20 points per game plus 5.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists.
Fifth Team
Austin Miller of Big Lake. Miller scored nearly 18 points per game with four boards a night and led the team in assists. Great year for the Hornets.
Rhys Langums of St. Anthony. Had 19.3 points per game and was a top rebounder on a 19 win team.
Savion Scott of Minneapolis Henry. The Patriots won 20 games this year and Saviou was the leading scorer on a very balanced club.
Spencer Hockert of Alexandria. Another 20 win season for Alex and Hockert scored 22 a contest.
Mitchell Sueker of Marshall. Marshall was a very balanced team with three guys averaging the same thing and Mitchell was one of them.
Rocky Kreuser of Totino-Grace. The future NDSU big gave his team 17 points and seven rebounds a game against a tough schedule.
