The Class AA All State Team
The Class AA All State was named at Northstar Hoops honoring the best talent in the state as Class AA gets more talented every day.
First Team
Jalen Suggs, Minnehaha Academy (Fr). The national known standout led his team to the state championship with 22 points, seven rebounds, and almost six assists a game. At state he did some of everything including some great defensive plays to led his team to the gold.
Trae Berhow of Watertown-Mayer (Sr). At 24 points, a dozen rebounds, and nearly seven assists a game as a wing Trae often carried the Royals to wins against the best teams they faced. The Royals finished 24-5 with Berhow doing the Lion’s share.
Dillon Haider of Melrose (Sr). Haider’s performance in the section final loss was incredible and his team was the last small school team to loss this year (won their first 29).
Owen King of Caledonia (Jr). Another 25 wins for the Warriors, another season sitting at the top of the Class AA rankings, and another year that Owen King was a playmaker in many ways. 18 points, six rebounds, and nearly seven assists a game.
Michael Schaefer of St Cloud Cathedral (Jr). Led his team to state with 21.5 points and ten boards a night. A double-double average for a team that got past the hurdle of state and Michael led the way
Second Team
Jarod Wilken of Annandale (Sr). Maybe the most underappreciated player around as Jarod took his team to state every year he played. Averaged 19 points a game this season with seven boards.
Oakley Baker of NRHEG (Sr). At 17 points and six boards a game Oakley led his team to 30 victories this year and the state tournament. One of the best all around players in Class AA this year.
Jack Silgren of Crosby-Ironton (Sr). Led his team in scoring (17), assists, and steals, was second in rebounds and did all of this at point guard of a 30-3 team. Incredible year.
Noah Gindorff of Crosby-Ironton (Sr). It was a 30-3 season for C-I and Noah was a huge part with his 17 points and a dozen rebounds per game plus he blocked nearly four shots a contest.
Adam Trapp of Esko (Jr). Trapp averaged a double-double and was one of the state’s leaders in blocks again plus led his team to 26 wins. Also scored 16 points a contest (with 14 boards and five plus blocks).
Third Team
Jimmy Vollbrecht of Jordan (Sr). The Hubmen had a great year at 25-4 with UMD committed Vollbrecht putting up 23.4 points and double figure boards.
David Roddy of Breck (Soph). The Mustangs won 19 games this season with David Roddy scoring 18.3 points per game and he hit double figures every night with a high of 30 against Holy Angels.
JaVonni Bickham of Minnehaha Academy (Jr). The big on the Class AA state champs had a season of 15 points and nine plus rebounds a game. Bickham missed nine games to injury and still came back strong.
Mitchell Plombon of Cathedral (Jr). 19 points and 8.5 boards a game for a state team that got past some obstacles they couldn’t get past in previous years.
Broc Finstuen of Pine Island (Sr). Broc was a couple boards a game from averaging a triple double of 20 and 10. At 23-5 he led the Panthers to a better year than expected.
Fourth Team
Noah King of Caledonia (Fr). The Caledonia guard put up an impressive 20.4 points per game as the 25-4 Warriors were once again one of the best teams in the state. Noah and his brother Owen combined for nearly 40 a game.
Jenson Beachy of Perham (Soph). The Yellowjackets only loss three contests all year and Jenson led with nearly 18 points a contest. Beachy is the first Perham played to go over 1,000 points for his career and is likely to hit 2,000 at some point.
Spencer Smith of TMB (Sr). Spencer scored 26 plus a game showing that he is one of the best talents out there that doesn’t get state wide recognition.
Jacob Christopher of JCC (Sr). JCC was better than expected with Jacob leading in scoring (19 game), second in assists (4 a game), and second in steals (2 a game). Big playmaker that pushed his team to 26 wins and the state tournament.
Jacob Streit of Eden Valley-Watkins (Sr). EVW won 20 games again and Jacob was one of the state’s most productive players at 21 points and 14 rebounds a night. Huge number producer game after game.
Zac Olson of WEM (Sr). The U of Mary commit scored 21 a game and averaged a double-double for the Bucs who lost just four games all season. Another strong year.
Fifth Team
Noah Christensen of Breckenridge (Soph). The big guard put up 15.4 points and seven rebounds a game for the 26 win Cowboys team that surprised a few people with some of the wins they earned this year.
Marc Kjos of Lake City (Jr). Led his team to state with a team high 15 points per game plus dished out nearly four assists a game and led the team in steals.
Gavin Bates of Sibley East (Jr). One of the best scorers in the state that people don’t know about, Gavin scored nearly 24 a game this winter. Sibley East was a 20 win team.
Curtis Bell of St. Paul Washington (Sr). His team struggled but Curtis is a fantastic player who scored 26 a night and could score a strong amount for any team.
Lu’Cye Patterson of Brooklyn Center (Fr). The freshman do everything talent led his team in scoring (17), assists, was one of the top rebounders, and the Centaurs won 18 games.
Ethan Youso of Virginia (Jr). Ethan put up 19 plus points per game leading Virginia to a 26 win season averaging a double-double.
