Circle City Shootout: Top 2018 Performers
The first live period has come to a close and we are ready to look back at some of the top guys we saw this weekend in Indianapolis for the Circle City Shootout. Here are our Top 5 in the class of 2018.
Hayden Langkabel – 6’1 | PG | Morristown (IN) | Indiana Legends 2018 – Hayden is a stout combo guard who can score the ball as well as anyone in the class. Deceptive in terms of his speed and ball handling but he’s able to take on length and athleticism. His jumper is really good and he can pullup from three and 15′ with a really good pull-back jumper. Can score it in so many different ways and should be able to play on the ball at the next level.
Jalan Mull – 6’0 | PG | Blackhawk Christian (IN) | OPS 2018 – Mull will need to add offense over the next year but he produces so much for his teammates that you can live with it. He’s sprouted up to 6’0 and has added some length to his frame. Gets in the lane with so much ease and can draw a lot of attention but sees his team so well that he always makes the right pass. Elite vision and passing ability should make him a priority for some schools.
Bryce Hunt – 6’7 | PF | Reading (OH) | OT Elite 2018 – Hunt is a big, physical forward with tons of athleticism and enough skill to be impressive. Big hands and can catch the ball well around the rim. Can play inside and rebounds at a high rate, able to track and get to the ball. Will need to show more offensive versatility from the wing but can put it on the floor to drive.
Tyler Watson – 6’1 | PG | Tri-West (IN) | GP Premier 2018-Blake – Watson is a taller point guard with great feel for the game and gives max effort on the court all the time. He will outplay everyone on every play. Shooting the ball really well right now and if he needs to be the best offensive player he can do that. Not flashy but so effective on his drives using toughness to finish.
Harrison Gough – 6’8 | PF | Lima Bath (OH) | NW Ohio BBall Club 2018 – Gough is a long, lanky forward who can really run the floor and be active in transition. Has probably +4 length and can play in the post. Decent hands but needs strength to finish some plays. Really good positioning but needs to battle harder at the rim for boards. Has plenty of upside and can attain it with added strength.
