Circle City Shootout: Northern Ohio Prospects
Both Northeast and Northwest Ohio were represented at the Circle City Shootout. This particular recap is a look at those standout prospects who weren’t previously evaluated this week on the site.
Previous evaluations of these players can be easily accessed by clicking the links under their names.
Mark Janowski (2018), 6’7” F, Northwest Ohio Basketball Club / Lima Central Catholic
Omari Peek (2018), 6’6” W, Club Ohio – Pierce / Strongsville
Harrison Gough (2018), 6’8” F/C, Northwest Ohio Basketball Club / Lima Bath
We wrote about Gough’s defensive tools yesterday. Offensively, he’s also a smooth operator. He’s mostly going to hurt defenses in the paint, as he can finish with his back to the basket. Also an effective screener. But as mentioned, we more so fell in love with Gough’s defensive potential.
Javier Quinones (2017), 6’3” PG, Northwest Ohio Basketball Club / Lima Senior
Quinones is a very confident player. He’s likely to pull up from way beyond the arch, and hit it occasionally. Quinones also finishes high off the glass when he attacks the basket. While he’s always looking for his shot, he’s also a reliable ball-handler who played more of a facilitative role at times.
Alex Heath (2018), 5’9” PG, Another Level / Cleveland Central Catholic
It should be noted that Heath told us about a week back that he will play with tNBA later in the grassroots season.
Cade Stover (2019), 6’5” W, OH-NOVA Bennett / Lexington
Stover is one of most physically imposing wings in the 2019 class, as it appears he lifts a lot of weights. Not hard to believe he was offered to play defensive end at Ohio State earlier in the summer. On the hardwood, he rebounds at a high level and then transitions into a point forward role. He’s awfully patient in that role, usually making a smart first pass. Scoring wise, he likes to post up smaller guys on the block, which tend to be guards.
