Capital Hoop Fest Scouting: 2018 Part 3
WASHINGTON, DC — The Elevate Hoops Capital Hoopfest showcased some of the best teams from the greater Baltimore/Washington D.C. region at Catholic University on last weekend for a weekend of competition and exposure. It is time for our detailed scouting report on the event. Here is part three of our 2018 scouting report!
G/F JEROME HUNTER | OHIO VILLAGE
Jerome Hunter was arguably the best prospect at this event. There was no other player who could match his size, skillset, and athleticism. At 6-8, Hunter can dribble, pass, shoot, and defend at a very high level. We were impressed by his positive body language, and willingness to consistently communicate with his teammates.
G IAN KRISHNAN | DISTRICT BASKETBALL CLUB
Ian Krishnan knocked down five threes in his first game, and didn’t really slow down after that. The broad shouldered 6’3 guard locks up defensively, and can defend several different positions on the perimeter as a result of his length. Krishnan displayed a high motor as well.
NOAH LOCKE | TEAM MELO EYBL
Arguably the event’s most polished scorer, Noah Locke contributed in so many ways throughout this tournament. Locke ran the 1 at times, and also did his due diligence on the defensive end.
G DEMETRIUS MIMS | TEAM MELO EYBL
Demetrius Mims impressed with his positive attitude, and willingness to defend virtually any position on the floor. Mims shot the ball well from the perimeter this weekend, and his confidence is growing as he continues to improve in that aspect.
F/C KORAN MOORE | TEAM MELO EYBL
Koran Moore is a high energy big man with good size at 6’9. Moore runs the floor, crashes the offensive glass, and actively contests shots at the basket. More will need to become more a bit productive offensively, but that will come as his fitness continues to improve.
F JUSTIN NWOSU | DISTRICT BASKETBALL CLUB
Justin Nwosu hit threes, scored from the mid-range areas, and finished efficiently around the rim. The 6’5 forward was a factor on the boards, and set solid screens off the ball.
