Best Available: KY 2017 Wings
With a number of Kentucky’s 2017 prospects already making their college decisions, Prep Hoops Kentucky breaks down the top remaining prospects at the wing position.
1.) Damon Tobler, Perry County Central (6’3, G/F)
Tobler has been an enigma, in that it remains to be seen what position Tobler is best suited for at the next level. It’s also too soon to tell if Tobler will seek a JUCO to Division I experience. One thing is sure, he can play. The athletic prospect averaged 16 points and 8.5 rebounds per game while leading the Commodores to the state tournament quarterfinals.
2.) Chance Moore, Fern Creek (6’5, W)
Averaging 16 points and and 5 rebounds per game, Moore helped lead Fern Creek to it’s first ever state tournament, advancing to the semifinals. Moore shot over 55% from the field.
3.) James Baker, Meade County (6’6, F)
Baker rejoined Meade County’s roster just in time to help them make a run to the Kentucky state tournament. Playing 20 games on the season, Baker averaged 15.8 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.
4.) Kyran Jones, Bowling Green (6’5, SF)
Jones has a handful of JUCO offers on the table, as well he has had interest from NAIA and D-II programs. Jones helped lead Bowling Green to a state championship this year, averaging 11.4 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.
5.) Treyce Spurlock, Harlan County (6’5, SG/W)
Spurlock averaged 15 points per game, shooting above 40% from both 2-pt and 3-pt field goal range. He also helped lead Harlan County to the Kentucky ‘Sweet Sixteen’ this season.
6.) DelVonte McCloud, Jeffersontown (6’5, SF)
Although Jeffersontown struggled throughout the season, McCloud averaged 13 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, while also shooting 55% from the field.
7.) Ramon Collins, Moore (6’5, F)
Helping lead Moore to a 20 win season, Collins averaged 13.6 points and 4.7 rebounds for the Mustangs this season. Maybe the best stat to Collins’ credit is that he shot 62.7% from the field.
8.) Josh Moss, Warren Central (6’4, F)
Josh Moss averaged 10.4 points and 7.2 rebounds for the Dragons this season.
