The top performers from the 5A state semifinals
Calvary Christian and Tampa Catholic each moved forward in their Class 5A state semifinals on Wednesday.
The Eagles took down Marianna in a low scoring affair 39-20 while Tampa Catholic cruised past Villages 92-67.
Here are the top performers from 5A state semifinals:
Kevin Knox (Tampa Catholic)
In front of North Carolina coach Roy Williams, Knox dropped 40 points and 20 rebounds. He shot a ridiculous 13-of-17 from the field and a perfect 7-of-7 from 3-point land. Knox will be ready for the task in Saturday’s final.
Tre Mann (Villages)
Only a sophomore, Tre Mann showed poise throughout the matchup against Tampa Catholic by dropping 24 points. He has a quick first step and is a solid rhythm shooter.
Victor Uyaelunmo (Calvary Christian)
The 7’0″ senior was held to nine points by Marianna but his 15 rebounds proved to be crucial in a low scoring affair.
Jaeden Harley (Marianna)
No one shot well on Marianna, but Harley finished with 11 points including a couple of 3’s. The senior did all he could for the Bulldogs in his final game.
Terry Ivery (Villages)
17 points and seven rebounds is not too shabby for the sophomore. Much like his counterpart Mann, he is a streaky shooter.
Tim Carter (Tampa Catholic)
The junior point guard did his thing with 14 points and five assists. Carter helped Knox out plenty throughout.
Josey Davis (Tampa Catholic)
Davis played just under 10 minutes in the game, but he stretched the floor with 12 points. He shot 4-of-5 from the field and 3-of-4 from downtown. The junior stepped up.
