Swanny’s Unsigned Senior Event – Part 5
Prep Hoops takes a final look at some of the players that attended Swanny’s Unsigned
Senior Event last weekend at Lakewood HS (Sumter).
Johama Tisdale – C.E. Murray (Greeleyville) (pictured on front)
Tisdale 5’9 point guard won Region Player of the Year this season for the War Eagles. Tisdale
averaged 17.3 ppg and 3.8 assists. Tisdale left-handed really excels in the transition game and
has the ability to spot up in the corner for a open look. Tisdale might need to entertain junior
college options.
Grantland Adams – Hoggard (Wilmington, NC)
Adams now at 6’5 has had a late growth spurt the past year. Adams has very solid academics and averaged
7 ppg and 5 rebounds this season for the Vikings. Adams has shown interest in North Carolina
Wesleyan and the United States Coast Guard Academy (CT) this spring.
Xavier Boyd – South Central (Winterville, NC)
Boyd a 6’5 wing player played on a very good high school and Head Coach Chris Cherry. Boyd had modest
numbers on a very balanced team with 8 ppg and 4.7 rebounds. Boyd is a rangy wing that gets his hands
on a lot of balls with deflections.
Tyson McClain – Dorman (Roebuck)
McClain has been a steady piece for the Cavaliers all season long. McClain averaged 12 ppg and 4 rebounds
for the 5A State Champions this season. McClain has a 4.3 GPA in the classroom and already has offers from
Limestone (SC) and Spartanburg Methodist College according to Dorman Assistant coach Brenden Marcell.
McClain plans on visiting North Greenville and Lees McRae College (NC) in the near future.
McClain is ranked #66 in the Prep Hoops Top 125 this season.
Andrew Tate – Spartanburg
Tate came out like a mad man this past weekend at the Swanny’s Unsigned Senior Event. Tate 6’5 is a very
quick leaper. Tate stays active on both ends of the floor and fills the lane in transition. Tate showed a nice
jump-hook move in the paint and could extend the defense 8-10 feet out with a jump shot. Tate carries
a 4.3 GPA and averaged 10 ppg, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks this season for the Vikings. Tate could be possibly
be graduating high school and the same day college. Tate has taken plenty of college credits during his
high school career. Strong Academics.
Julian Randolph
Julian Randolph – Westside (Anderson)
Randolph only played like 9 games this season Westside before some discipline problems. Randolph
is high energy player that really gets after it on both ends of the floor. Randolph had the abiity
to step-out and knockdown the baseline jumper and hit a mid-range jumper. Randolph is
a intriguing prospect to watch.
Desmond Pressley – Hemingway
Pressley is just so steady with his play. Pressley a 6’0 point guard won Class A State Player of the
Year and a State Championship for the Tigers. Pressley left-handed averaged 13.2 ppg and 5.5 rebounds
this season for the Tigers. Pressley scored 45 points vs Blythewood back in December 2016 at the
Pepsi Carolina Classic (Florence). Pressley is ranked #27 in the Prep Hoops Top 125 this season.
