FIRST TEAM
Most Outstanding Player: Jesse Jansma (Western Christian)*
24.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steals
From start to finish Jansma stayed hot at Wells Fargo Arena last week, averaging a tourney best 24.6 points per game and knocking down 10 3s. The 3-pointers were especially noteworthy because he had hit just 19 during the entire regular season. Jansma thrives when the lights are bright.
Matt Dentlinger (Kuemper Catholic)*
18.3 points, 15.6 rebounds, 2.7 blocks
He pulled down 15.6 rebounds and scored 18.3 per game while leading the Knights to a third place finish. the 6-foot-7 forward will play at South Dakota State next season.
Ben Gesink (Western Christian)*
15.3 points, 4.3 assists, 6.3 rebounds, 1.3 steals
It was evident last March at the state tourney that Gesink was a guy who could dominate, and he did that last week in Des Moines, averaging 22.5 points per game during the semifinals and finals.
Levi Jungling (Pella Christian)*
18.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.3 steals
His 31 points in a semifinal win over Kuemper was one of the better performances of the entire week. Jungling nailed his final five 3-point attempts in that win.
Cameron Soenksen (Camanche)*
This kid is just a freshman and he’s got a very bright future ahead of him. He scored 17 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and swiped four steals in Camanche’s opening round win over Cascade.

22 points 10 rebounds in quarterfinal loss
