STATE TOURNAMENT: Elite All-Tourney (4th Team)
Nicholas Ruden (St. Mary’s)
20.3 points (51.2 FG%, 40 3FG%), 8.0 rebounds
This 6-foot-4 forward boosted his stock considerably with a nice tourney from start to finish. We’ll be the first to admit that his current 117 ranking in 2018 is a bit low.
Jacob Wesselmann (St. Mary’s)
15.7 points (57.1 3FG%), 4.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 3.3 steals
He’ll play baseball next season at the NAIA level, but the 6-foot-2 guard can hoop too. He was especially proficient from beyond the arch during the Hawks’ third-place run.
Jacob Vis (Western Christian)
8.3 points (79 FG%), 10.3 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, 1.0 steals
When Western Christian had two starters removed from the lineup, Vis stepped up big. The 6-foot-6 big-man averaged 10.5 points on 9-11 shooting and 13 rebounds in the semifinals and finals.
Jackson Joens (Xavier)
11.7 points (52 FG%, 63 3FG%), 4.7 rebounds
The 6-foot-6 shooting guard picks his moments, and he picks them well. As poised and patient as they come, Joens shined the brightest in the title game, starting out 3-3 from beyond the arch.
Levi Jungling (Pella Christian)
18.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.3 steals
A 31 point performance in the semifinal will be how we remember this bouncy guard. Jungling’s career has become synonymous with Wells Fargo Arena. He’s torched opponents down there for three straight years now.
Honorable Mention: Max Techau, Aidan Vanderloo, David Kacmarynski, Derrick Diggins, John Nagel, Ryan Miller, Stephen Glenn, Cameron Soenksen, Patrick McCaffery, Jackson Wright, Garrett Sturtz, Connor Gholson, Nolan Butkowski, Arturo Montes.
