Spring Stock Riser Report: Greg Gantt
When you hear the name Trinity Christian School, two player’s names usually follow behind this and those two are Josh Nickelberry and Joey Baker, the two 2019s that are on just about every high major schools recruiting boards. All it takes is a look at the numbers these two have put up for Trinity this year and it’s no surprise that they are considered one of the top dynamic duos in the state. However there is another young man that should his stock rise over the spring and summer time and that is Trinity Christian 6’6 2019 Forward Greg Gantt.
Over the years Greg has been somewhat of an overlooked player for Trinity Christian, however slowly but surely he is making a name for himself and schools have begun to take notice. As of now he hold offers from Grambling State and Hampton University but you can expect to see the list of school grow some more this spring. Greg is what I would call a play making forward, he can battle inside with bigs but is very skilled with the ball to make plays on the perimeter. There were countless times this season where he would get the rebound, take the ball the length of the floor and either score it or make a play for a teammate. He also has the ability to be a very dangerous player in pick and roll situations as he can dive to the basket or pick and pop. On the defensive end he has the ability to guard multiple positions on the wing and inside, he has decent lateral quickness mixed with very good length and nice athleticism to lock down opponents.
To be completely honest, I am somewhat shocked that his recruitment hasn’t heated up already but it’s only a matter of time before he begins to get calls from schools at a high rate. As long as he continues to work hard and produce consistently for his squad he will get a nice amount of interest, his stock is definitely on the rise.
