Recruiting Report: Jalen Gibbs (2017)
Jalen Gibbs was flat out productive for North Point this season. The highly talented guard finished second in the D.C. Metro Area in scoring at just under 29 PPG, and also led the Eagles in rebounding.
“I can get to the rack,” said Gibbs when asked to describe his game. “I can hit a shot if open, but I think my main thing is getting to the hole.”
George Mason and Navy have each offered scholarships to the highly touted unsigned senior guard. Gibbs will visit Texas A&M Chorpus Christi and Ohio State this spring.
“My pull up jump shot and my floater,” replied Gibbs when asked what the most improved aspects of his game are. “I need to work on more on my pull-up. Because I know in college I’m gonna have to use that shot. So I’d like to work on it a little more.”
Gibbs believes people might not see how vocal he is on the floor. He understands the importance of communication, especially on the defensive end.
“I really did improve in rebounding this year,” said Gibbs, who recorded 9 double-doubles, and had two games of 19 rebounds this year. When asked what he will bring to a college program, Gibbs said: “I think I can bring a definite scorer. A person that can score. Definitely leadership and talking to my teammates.”
Expect Gibbs to make his college decision sometime in April.
