Recruiting Report: Brandon Simpson (2017)
Brandon Simpson did a bit of everything for Seneca Valley during their run to the state final four. The hard-working 6-foot-5 senior averaged 28 points per game over his last five, and defended virtually every position.
“I really started playing serious basketball in sixth grade,” said Simpson when asked what type of basketball background he comes from. “I’m just an all around guard. I can guard 1-5, and can score, and can play defense.”
Seneca Valley amassed 24 wins with a senior-laden roster, and Simpson as the defensive anchor as well as the go-to scoring option. The most important attribute Simpson brought to this team, however, was definitely his leadership.
“I just like to just be a leader. Keep people up,” Simpson stated. “I probably getting better at guarding faster guards. When I get to college I’m going to be guarding 1-3, so getting faster.”
Simpson is being recruited by schools of all levels. St. Bonaventure, Post University, and Emmanuel College are some of the schools he mentioned. Simpson plans to take an official visit to Emmanuel this spring. What can he bring to a college program?
“Just the person/player who I am. Leadership.”
