Prospect Spotlight: Nigel Brown (2019)
2019 guard Nigel Brown is on his way up.
The 5’10” West Orange prospect made the most of his chances on JV this past season averaging 15 points, six assists and three steals per game. This upcoming season, Brown joins a varsity squad that lost in the Class 9A region quarterfinal to Boone and will be losing six seniors.
A chance for playing time is certainly there for the rising junior.
“One thing I learned most was being more a floor general and leader,” Brown told Prep Hoops Florida. “My game has improved mostly with my shooting.”
Brown will be playing for Florida Xclusive Elite for the second straight summer. He’s aiming to draw more attention and stand out during the travel season.
Starting his basketball career at age 4, he said his biggest strengths are his court vision, passing ability, decision making, attack to the basket and defensive ability. He’s aiming to improve his court leadership and overall shooting.
Brown is going to be a big part of the Warriors plans next season. Look for him to make a splash on the varsity squad. He is a savvy and smooth guard who can make plays.
