Prospect Spotlight: Conner Hill (2019)
South Hamilton’s 5-foot-11 guard Conner Hill did a nice job this past winter of establishing himself as one of the Iowa’s most skilled and savvy 2019s.
As a younger player Hill worked hard to develop his jumper, and became known as primarily a shooter because of it. But his ball-handling and passing, along with his basketball IQ has been implemented nicely into his repertoire the past 12 months.
“Obviously I’ve been known as a pretty good shooter, I’ve been able to shoot the ball since I was young. This year I thought I did a good job at being a key defender, that was my focus going into the season, was being able to guard kids. And then I think handling the ball under pressure is something I think I have a really good feel for,” said Hill.
“I’m working on being an all-around scorer, like I said, I’ve been known as a scorer the past couple years, but I wanted to start being more aggressive and really taking it to the hole, and just being an all-around scorer in general.”
A slender 5-foot-11, Hill is the younger brother of Collin Hill, and all-state performer who happens to be 6-foot-6.
The younger Hill may not have the height just yet, but he certainly has the skill-set to be one of 2019s more intriguing prospects.
“I haven’t really gotten much recruitment yet, but my goal is to just take whatever opportunity is given to me; whether it’s D1, D2 or anything, I just want to make the most out of what I’m given,” said Conner.
This summer he’ll again play for Coach Lefty Moore with All Iowa Attack 16U’s top squad.
“I just want to show (college) coaches that I can play hard, and what kind of player I really am,” said Conner.
“We have a couple new players and our team goals are just to win games and tournaments. And we should have a good team with our guys returning and the new guys coming in.”
